The sphere of focus and influence of PED includes the Civil Service, the Statutory Bodies and Local Councils.

In order to deliver on the outcomes, the Department is composed of two technical sections and support sections of ICT and Administration to help foster automation of the performance management systems and administrative functions respectively: 


1. Policy, Programmes and Projects Performance Division


The division was established to promote public service delivery and enhance effective implementation of the national development agenda. The division is headed by a Director and has two subdivisions with responsibilities of executing specific but complementary aspects of the overall function.  These subdivisions comprise;

a) Organisational Performance Assessments Section; and 

b) Programmes and Projects Implementation Assessments Section


2. Budget Assessment Division


The division was established to enhance effective flow and judicious utilization of recurrent and development budget resources for achievement of the national development agenda. The division is headed by a Director and has two subdivisions with responsibilities of executing specific but complementary aspects of the overall function.  These subdivisions comprise:

a) Recurrent Budget Assessment Section; and 

b) Development Budget Assessment Section.


3. ICT Section


The ICT section was established to play an oversight function on Government ICT systems for an enhanced Integrated Performance Management Information Systems (IPMIS). The integrated systems would facilitate effective public expenditure tracking linked to results. The section is headed by a Deputy Director.


4. Administration Section
